WHAT IS A STOCK RUN?

When water is available, TID delivers three stock runs during the winter.

Stock runs may be cancelled, delayed, or modified at any time due to weather, maintenance, safety concerns, or lack of water supply.

Stock runs usually begin on Monday and end on Friday. They are scheduled around cleanup and construction work being done by the field crew.

The purpose of a stock run is to fill patrons’ ponds with stock water for livestock, and filling cisterns for domestic use. Based on water laws, it is illegal to use stock water for any other purpose, including filling ponds for astetic purposes or using the water to irrigate.
