Tumalo Irrigation District

The Board of Directors of Tumalo Irrigation District held a regular board meeting at the District office on Tuesday, October 13, 2026. At that meeting, the Board declared an election for the open positions of Board Director for Division 4 and Division 5. ORS 545.137.

The election will be held on Tuesday, November 10, 2026, at the District office, 64697 Cook Avenue, Bend, OR 97703. This will be a mail-in ballot election. ORS 545.163(1).

Voter Registration

Irrigation district elections are different from other elections in the state. To vote in a District election, you must have a voter registration card on file at the District office.

If you do not already have a registration card on file, a registration card will be included with this letter. If there is no registration card enclosed, our records indicate that you are already registered to vote in the District election.

Only registered voters will automatically be mailed a ballot. However, if you are not registered by the time ballots are mailed, you may still come to the District office to register and vote in person until the polls close at 8:00 p.m. on Election Day. ORS 545.163(6).

The first day the District is legally allowed to mail ballots is October 21, 2026. ORS 545.163(4).

Please allow extra time for mailing if you are returning your registration card by USPS.

You may also drop your registration card off at the District office, preferably during office hours. You may also use the District’s door slot to return your card after hours.

Verification of Property Ownership

Before each election, the District verifies the recorded deed for each parcel of land within the District that has TID water rights. This is done as of the 21st day before the election to determine the correct owner of the land for voting purposes. ORS 545.163(7).

If the most recent deed recorded with the County does not correctly identify the current owner, you will need to provide the District with a copy of the correct deed when you register.
